This was a pretty good week. I had a few parent volunteers come in this week to help cutout laminated materials and help with centers. What a difference it makes to have an extra set of eyes during centers. I am very thankful for the parents that came in this week.
Thursday morning I went into school like I would any other morning. I was healthy, happy and ready to teach. The morning went fabulous. My kiddos worked hard so I decided to give them time to work on their community structures project. I was sitting down in a chair, hot-gluing projects for my students when all of a sudden it hit me. My voice was gone and I felt like crap. My students immediately noticed it and while a select few tried to help me run the class for the rest of the afternoon most of the kids kicked me while I was down. I started working on sub plans for the next day immediately. The kiddos left that afternoon and I came home and passed out. I didn't get out of bed except to eat some homemade chicken noodle soup (thanks mom!). And I can tell you that was all I got out of bed for the next day also. I went back to school friday and disinfected everything in my classroom. I decided it may be time to invest in a small air purifier for my room. Thinking about it gives me the hibbie-gibbies, especially since I still feel like poop.
Can't wait to see what new exciting memories we make this week. We will be celebrating Johnny Appleseed birthday on Friday so that should be exciting! Until next week, have a blessed time! And don't ever forget, "children live up to what you believe in them" (Lady Bird Johnson).
