Here's the thing, it's not the talking that bothers me. It's the fact that they are talking while I'm giving directions so then when it's time to do the assignment I was giving the directions for, they are lost so they come up to me yelling "Ms. S., Ms. S., Ms. S." 50,000 times. The truth is I'm beginning to hate my own name. STOP THE MADDNESS!!! Anyway, so I try to tell them that I already gave them directions and that they missed them cause they were talking so they need to go ask a friend for the directions. Well, five minutes go by and I see whoever in the back of the classroom talking yet again, or throwing erasers or doing whatever else besides their assignment. So then, the whole vicsious cycle starts over.
Anyway, enough with the negativity... last friday was an absolutely amazing day in my classroom. I thought I had finally cracked the case on getting them to be quiet. Then I realized, ha, yeah right, it was because they were doing testing so only ten kids were in my class at one time. I still enjoyed the day and thats all that counts.
You can see why I call this the adventures. First year teaching is like a roller coaster with extreme ups and downs. Good news is, I'm not the only one and with a little bit of guidance from a few select mentors, I am well on my way into the fourth week school.
Hang in there. Aunt Karen and I read it at the cabin 6:18pm. Aug. 28th. Your doing a great job. We love you. Mom and Aunt Karen.
